Beautiful June

Pinch punch, first of the month. I hope that everybody is keeping safe and well. As we all know, we are living in challenging times, and I find it easier to concentrate on what I have, rather than have not, right now. We are all seeing so much change and uncertainty, and for me, I find focusing on the little things a lot easier than trying to take everything in at once.

I have been very busy of late with The Delicate Diner, my food business. Food writing is an area that I am very passionate about, just as I am about cooking – handy, as the two really do go hand in hand! I recently announced that I was launching a new series of interviews, called The Norfolk Foodie. My plan with this is to showcase the very best of the amazing chefs, producers, drink makers, and supporters that we have here in Norfolk. Some of Suffolk will definitely slip into this series, too, as I live on the border myself, and I do have plans to extend it further. I am working on a new name for the complete collection of interviews now, but you can enjoy the first one, with the lovely Jane Stewart of Eastgate Larder, here.

As ever, I have continued my food writing for Norfolk Online and my June column is now live. This includes a link for my rather delicious and aromatic halloumi salad – perfect for these summer days. Happy reading.

I have also spent most of May in the kitchen – check my social media pages for photos of the rather delicious items that I have been cooking! One timely ‘recipe‘ – if you can call it that – that I can share is just some inspiration for quick and easy wraps for your lunch. Prawn cocktail, a Wardolf-style, and a brunch wrap are among those featured.

Finally, I have been receiving some lovely reviews of Sandstorm, my novel set in the world of the Arabian horse and published on Amazon in April. I was thrilled to receive this at the weekend from an Arabian horse breeder in the USA:

“I just finished reading Sandstorm and I couldn’t put it down once I had started. Although I have never been to the Middle East or seen an Arabian show in either Europe of the Middle East, you made both places come alive for me.”

Have a lovely month, and keep checking in for further updates.

Samantha xx
