100 days of lockdown

Today marks 100 days of lockdown here in the UK. I have just written my latest column for Norfolk Online and in that I lament the loss of one of life’s greatest pleasures – one that we definitely all took for granted – and that is a cup of coffee with a friend. Whether spontaneous …

With lockdown resulting in all horse shows around the world being on a pause, and printing of The Arabian Breeders’ Magazine on hold for the time being, I have had the luxury of time to explore other avenues in my life. One of these has been a long-held desire to conduct a series of interviews …

Pinch punch, first of the month. I hope that everybody is keeping safe and well. As we all know, we are living in challenging times, and I find it easier to concentrate on what I have, rather than have not, right now. We are all seeing so much change and uncertainty, and for me, I …

A collection of years

For The Arabian Magazine Collectors’ Edition, I used to do a feature called The Editor’s Year, which was a summary of my year – the horses I had seen, the places I had been, and some of the many magical moments along the way. These used to be on my old website, but rather than …

The Beaver Moon over South Norfolk. The skies ar The Beaver Moon over South Norfolk.

The skies are hazy tonight, clouds flitting across the skies, a chill in the
air that slowly seeps into your bones, as magic happens in the celestial
skies above.

I love the rings around this moon. I love the echoes in the universe,
reaching out to us. And like so many, I am just transfixed by the moon...

This was taken when the moon was much higher than I normally would have liked, but it is beautiful nonetheless.

Looking at the moon tonight, I say the words that will bring me all that I
need, all that I have been dreaming of. Say yours aloud, look at the moon, and believe with all your heart that your world will be transformed into all you have imagined.

Oh, goodness me - we are into November now! The ye Oh, goodness me - we are into November now! The year is flying by.

This month is about Christmas markets for me, including the Christmas Light Switch on in Burnham Market where I will be taking over The Old Pharmacy once more, thanks to Wanda and her wonderful team. Expect to find @magicalmistermishkins series there, as well as some of my other works.

The rest of this month will be about enjoying the hygge feeling that this time of year brings - something evidenced to me even more this year after spending time in Sweden in January.

What are you up to this month? I love hearing from you, so do let me know below.

Have a wonderful month, Samantha xx
A beautiful sunset over Earsham Street in Bungay t A beautiful sunset over Earsham Street in Bungay this afternoon. This has been a week of migraines and rest, but making it to my favourite place for the first time in over a month lifted the soul.

Just two months left this year, where has 2025 gone? It feels as though it has flown by in the blink of an eye.
The reviews for The Magic of Mister Mishkins are j The reviews for The Magic of Mister Mishkins are just incredible, and I wanted to share these words from The Book Elf.

“The concept behind the story is beautiful and is perfect for children who need a little bit of Magical support. Samantha has taken some of the fears that children have - monsters under the bed and scared of the dark , along with other aspects such as loneliness and boredom - and put a supportive and non-fearful aspect to them by using cats. There are times when all of us could do with a Mister Mishkins in our lives, and childhood is one of these. This is a truly lovely book from Samantha to sit and read with any child in your life and I look forward to the next book in the series.”

Honestly, these reviews are everything and they make all that I do so worthwhile. Thank you.

It was a fantastic day @mklitfest yesterday showca It was a fantastic day @mklitfest yesterday showcasing my @magicalmistermishkins series - plus a preview of Nero the Hero!

Thank you so much to everyone on the team who made the day such a success, plus all of those who stopped by for a chat, to share their love for cats, and to buy the books and calendar. It was incredible to see so many people falling in love with the story - the power of words at it's very best!

Shout out to my amazing fellow authors. It was inspiring to see such a range of writing on offer.

This was a great event at @centremk and hopefully, we will all be back there again next year!
Does it make me sad that tonight is one of my favo Does it make me sad that tonight is one of my favourite night's of the year? The night when the clocks go back one hour, meaning we have an extra hour in bed to read and sleep. I am a passionate librocubicularist, so even if I don't spend that extra hour sleeping, I will be reading, which is a win-win in my book!

Do you love the clock change or do you feel that Greenwich Mean Time is just too - mean? I think if I didn't work from home, I'd hate the dark nights more, but as it is, my office turns into a magical place with glowing salt lamps and fairy lights. This is the time of year when I do my best writing. I'd love to know your thoughts.
