100 days of lockdown

With lockdown resulting in all horse shows around the world being on a pause, and printing of The Arabian Breeders’ Magazine on hold for the time being, I have had the luxury of time to explore other avenues in my life. One of these has been a long-held desire to conduct a series of interviews …

Pinch punch, first of the month. I hope that everybody is keeping safe and well. As we all know, we are living in challenging times, and I find it easier to concentrate on what I have, rather than have not, right now. We are all seeing so much change and uncertainty, and for me, I …

A collection of years

For The Arabian Magazine Collectors’ Edition, I used to do a feature called The Editor’s Year, which was a summary of my year – the horses I had seen, the places I had been, and some of the many magical moments along the way. These used to be on my old website, but rather than …

Cats and Christmas - just perfect 😻🎅
Before we get too much further into December, I ju Before we get too much further into December, I just want to say a huge thank you for being with me this year. All the likes, shares, and loves. All the comments, replies, and messages. They all mean so, so much, and on those days when I doubt myself, it is you who keep me going.

My regular Christmas wish will be out closer to the big day itself, but before the month becomes too crazy, I just wanted to take this moment to acknowledge the brilliant you. Thank you.

Big love, Samantha xxx
Winter sunset. Heaven. Winter sunset. Heaven.
My last Christmas thought for this year, and I cou My last Christmas thought for this year, and I couldn't do one without cats on! So, who are you spending Christmas with this year - and who would you love to? I don't mean those we cannot be with, as discussed earlier this week. Rather, would it be you and your best friend in Lapland? Or maybe, whisking the whole family to New York for an American adventure? Perhaps there is someone you secretly have a thing for and would love to tell them - Love Actually style? That's the kind of thing I am talking about here.

For us, it will be three days of being locked away at home, the wood burner going, the cats taking over everything and going mad with the smell of the turkey cooking, and just enjoying the peace amid the chaos. And, if George Clooney wanted to pop around with some coffee, I wouldn't turn him away!

I hope you have enjoyed these Christmas thoughts, and they have given some time for reflection. Now, go and party, have fun, and be with those you love!

This one is a biggie... There is no escaping it th This one is a biggie... There is no escaping it that Christmas is when we miss our loved ones the most. And that doesn't necessarily mean those who are no longer with us. It can be estranged families, loved ones the other side of the world, or even those we are no longer as close to as we once were.

Whatever the reason, we all know that there will be someone we don't hear from this year, and that will cause our hearts to ache, maybe tears to fall, and it can bring an emptiness inside. And that's okay. For it shows that we loved them, and that they will always be with us.

I always believe that when we talk about someone who has died, their star shines brighter that night. So, use the space below to name them, celebrate them, treasure them, and make their star shine bright tonight ⭐

A beautiful and unexpected rainbow today. There wa A beautiful and unexpected rainbow today. There was no rain around that I could see, but this spectacular arch appeared in the sky.

I always make a wish upon a rainbow, do you?

If money, time, distance, and any other kind of li If money, time, distance, and any other kind of limitation was no object - what would you wish for?

There is so much that I would love to do, but I do think I would honestly wish for my loved ones to have a happy, peaceful, and beautiful Christmas, with the people they love and time for them as well as everyone else. And a lottery win wouldn't go amiss - I'd love to win enough to drop money into peoples' bank accounts, pay off peoples' debts, and make peoples' dreams come true. And maybe buy Mister Mishkins the bed of his dreams!

I'd love to hear your wishes, however silly they may seem. You never know, Santa may be reading this post...!
