  • It's okay not to feel okay... Today is World Mental Health Day. Something we all need to be aware of in our own lives, and also the lives of others. We are all different, and we all deal with things in different ways. No way is right, no way is wrong; it is whatever works for you. My door is always open for those wanting a chat, a cuppa or - as I offer to my closest of dear friends - to just sit in silence, and know you are not alone.   • I have just taken a moment today to reflect on an amazing couple of weeks. Two weeks ago, in Germany, I launched an Arabian horse book published by myself with a dear friend. Then, this week, I launched @magicalmistermishkins Mister Mishkins' Apothecary - and on the same night, I won the Members Shield @norwichwriters as part of the Olga Sinclar Prize. This post isn't to brag or be all 'look at me'. Instead, it is to give hope to all those who hesitate in following your dreams. I hesitated for too long, and now I finally feel I am where I should be. It has taken a long time to get here, and there will be plenty of downs as well as the ups, but a moment to pause and reject on it all is always good.   • Oh my goodness - what a surreal night I had last night! First was the launch of @magicalmistermishkins at Caistor Hall, which was a wonderful event. So many happy people enjoying @o.griet artwork as well as buying the book - thank you! Then it was onto @norwichwriters for the results of the Olga Sinclair Members Shield - and I only went and won! I couldn't believe it, and it made for a truly special evening. I have the shield in my creative space in my office, and they had already engraved my name on it. Just incredible.   • My goodness, what a month September was, with several challenges along the way all set to knock me off course! With the help and support of family and friends, I made it though unscathed and now have a very exciting October to look forward to! First, my debut children's book, Mister Mishkins Apothecary about the @magicalmistermishkins comes out on 3 October. I am short-listed for @norwichwriters Members Shield for the Olga Sinclair Prize - which is the same night! I am doing a cooking demo at the Bungay Food & Drink Festival on 15 October, once again celebrating the amazing produce @oldhallfarm Then I will be at @theloddonswan Ladies Night selling Mister Mishkins Apothecary and Sandstorm on 23 October. Alongside that, I have a couple of projects to finish before my attention turns to the next edition of The Arabian Magazine Phew - just as well the month has 31 days!
