And just like that, we are into July. The month of And just like that, we are into July. The month of long days, incredible sunsets, escaping the heat - if May and June are anything to go by! - and catching up with friends as life flies by. As July so often is, this will be a crazy month for me. I shall be doing one of my 13 Things at 50 as I go to see Jesus Christ Superstar at the London Palladium. I am also visiting a dear friend, one of a handful of visits I am making sure happen this year! I have several outings, too, the last of which will be a weekend in Ilkley as an exhibitor at the inaugural @indiechildrensauthornetwork Literature Festival on 25 July. It is going to be an amazing event, and I cannot wait to be under the same roof as so many incredible indie authors and illustrators. The month begins, however, with a look back at all that has been achieved these last six months. Much more than I realised, and for that, I am grateful. I am living for salad days right now. This one was I am living for salad days right now. This one was a beauty - a pimped up caprese with black olives, avocado, and cos lettuce, drenched in the most incredible @tuscanfarmshop extra virgin olive oil - which I foolishly forgot to top up at the weekend. Add some @freshherbsalt Company Original Italian salt plus my favourite pepper mix, and this today hit the spot. Buon appetito!
Mister Mishkins does love the sun - but Friday and Mister Mishkins does love the sun - but Friday and Saturday were far too hot for him! He was very out of sorts, and I did wonder whether a trip to the v - e - t may be needed. Thankfully, today he is back to his normal loving, happy self. He has spent the morning in the office keeping an eye on everything, and has now gone in to watch Wimbledon and await a catnip mouse delivery. All in all, not a bad Monday for my gorgeous ginger cat.

The summer solstice is upon us. Time is stretched The summer solstice is upon us. Time is stretched to its thinnest point before the elastic tightens once more in our annual circle around the sun. Later today, I shall walk barefoot on the grass, reflecting upon the last six months and looking towards the next. Setting my intentions. Reclaiming myself, my dreams, my goals. I shall offer a libation of sparkling wine to the goddesses, asking for their guidance as I step into the next chapter of my life. This time, I will listen to them. This time, I will be brave and daring. I shall reach for the wildest of my dreams, and hold them close until they are breathed into life. A day of contemplation, redefining boundaries and goals, and of fresh determination settling into my soul along with the setting sun.
