Is there anything more perfect than this? Especially when washed down with a Gewürztraminer from Alsace. Heaven!
We enjoyed a family lunch today before stopping of We enjoyed a family lunch today before stopping off for a quiet drink @caistorhallnorwich below the wisteria, which was busy with bumblebees amid the intense heat of the afternoon. Now, to relax into the rest of the weekend and maybe enjoy a nibble of cheese later, cuddles with the kittens, and a cool glass of pinot noir. Oh - and the teeny, tiny matter of getting @magicalmistermishkins book two ready to print on Monday... Have a great rest of weekend, Samantha xx

A beautiful taste of summer as I prepared a feast A beautiful taste of summer as I prepared a feast for a dear friend's 60th. Starter and pudding shown - beautiful heritage tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil, drizzled with the best extra virgin olive oil from the wonderful @tuscanfarmshop bookended with Norfolk strawberries, cream and meringue for an easy Eton mess. I love the bowls in the pudding photo - a @costco find, and they will keep the summer vibe going on wintery days. There was cake - chocolate fudge - and homemade hot smoked salmon and pea quiche, plus extra bits as well. Now to relax with @wimbledon and @f1 and maybe a snooze with @magicalmistermishkins

Hot and hazy July is here - time to press pause wh Hot and hazy July is here - time to press pause wherever we can, take time for you, and appreciate the height of summer. So far, this summer is a particularly hot one, and while we may all long to escape to a beach, it's not always practical. Cool morning walks, fresh salads, ice cream treats, and finding chilled spaces are key to getting through this weather. As for July itself, this is when the harvest starts to come home, the birds grow silent as they are tired from feeding their young - and yet we try to fit in as much as we can into these long summer days. Remember to pause, remember to rest. Above all, remember to be. Have a blessed month, my friends. Samantha xx
It was twenty years ago today when I received a te It was twenty years ago today when I received a telephone call confirming that I was leaving Norwich Union/Aviva. I remember the moment as though it were yesterday and from that moment on, I have never looked back. Being self-employed for twenty years has been full of incredible highs and demoralising lows. I am grateful to say that the highs have far outweighed the lows, and I would not have changed anything for the world. I still have so many dreams, so many goals and ideas, and so much to strive for. These years have flown by, and I cannot wait to see what the next twenty years will bring. As I always say, follow your dreams! Samantha 🧡
